There are nine particular gods, or Aedra, worshipped throughout Tamriel, though not all the races revere all of them on the same level. If one is pure of heart, the gods may see fit to answer his prayers by curing diseases and blessing him.
Akatosh: The Dragon God of time. Akatosh is the chief deity of the Nine. He is found in nearly every religion on Tamriel, and some equate him to the Nordic belief of Alduin, the World Eater, though some would disagree. There are shrines to him in the various temples throughout Tamriel, and there is a chapel devoted to him in Kvatch, Cyrodiil. He gives his worshippers blessings of speed and magic.
Arkay: The God of the cycle of life and death. Arkay is the the divine over burial rites and funerals, and his priests often perform such. He is sometimes associated with the seasons. Shrines to him can be found in temples to the Nine and in most burial sites. There is a chapel devoted to him in the Cyrodiilic city of Cheydinhal. His blessing is complete healing and restoration, making the worshipper feel younger and more rejuvenated that he has in years.
Dibella: The Goddess of beauty. Many pray to her for grace and appeal. There are more than a few female cults devoted solely to her worship, and many artists and aesthetics make her their chief patron. Shrines to her can be found in temples of the Divines. There is also a temple devoted to her in Markarth, Skyrim, and a chapel for in her Anvil, Cyrodiil. She grants her worshippers blessings of beauty, appealing them to others and making them more likeable.
Julianos: The God of Wisdom and Logic. Julianos is the chief patron of mages and scholars. His priests are the keepers of the Elder Scrolls. Shrines to him can be found in temples devoted to the Divines, and his chapel in Cyrodiil is located in the city of Skingrad. He blesses his worshippers with knowledge and magic.
Kynareth: The Goddess of Nature. She is the maker of stars and the bringer of rain, and the chief patron of sailors. To the Nords she is also known as Kyne. Shrines to her can be found in temples throughout Tamriel, and there is a temple devoted to her the Whiterun, Skyrim. There is no chapel to her in Cyrodiil, as the entirety of nature is her place of worship. Her worshippers receive blessings of energy and stamina.
Mara: The Goddess of Love. She is revered throughout Tamriel, and her priests perform marriage rites. Shrines to her can be found in temples to the Divines. There is a temple devoted to her in Riften, Skyrim, and her Cyrodiilic chapel is found in Bravil.
Stendarr: The God of righteous might, mercy and justice. Rulers and magistrates draw inspiration from him. Many of his most devoted followers have twisted the ideals he represents. These are callled the Vigilantes of Stendarr, and they are devoted to the eradication of necromancers, conjurers, and daedra worshippers. Shrines to him can be found in temples of the Divines, and there is a chapel devoted to him the Chorrol, Cyrodiil.
Zenithar: The God of labor and perserverence. His followers are determined to show the world that through hard work, and not through war, peace and prosperity can come. He is the patron of merchants and middle-class nobility. Shrines to him can be found in temples of the Nine throughout Tamriel, and in Cyrodiil and chapel for him can be found in the city of Leyawiin.
Talos: The God of war and governance. Talos is the most controversial of the Divines because he is not an Aedra. Originally, he was a Nord man called Tiber Septim. He conquered all of Tamriel and began the Third era, and established the Septim bloodline of Emperors. Upon his death, Akatosh blessed him, making him one of the Divines. Because of this, some refer to the Nine as "The Eight and One." In areas that are under control of the Aldmeri Dominion, worship of him has been discouraged, as the Altmer look upon him as a false god. Shrines to him can be found in temples to the Nine. There are also temples to him in the Skyrim cities of Markarth and Windhelm. His chapel in Cyrodiil is located in the city of Bruma.
