Dalien nodded at Elduin. "I thank you for your kind offer." He replied before they were once again interrupted by Jolfried. He really was a rowdy one. Was it their custom to always fight? Dalien glanced back at Elduin, feeling a bit annoyed that the wood elf was seemingly trying to flirt with his friend.
Dalien mentally groaned. Atla...don't start a fight... He thought to himself. He nodded, acknowledging to all of them that he was indeed Dalien. Dalien tensed a bit as he felt Atla prepping for a fight. His own fingers ready to take out his blade if a brawl did occur. He had no intention of Atla getting injured, however, he knew that she could take care of herself. Well, he would only interfere if things got out of her control. He listened patiently as he watched them discourse with one another.

OOC: I'm seeing so many ways this could potentially go, and most of them sound pretty freaking hilarious to me.
Jolfried was a little surprised when Atla introduced herself, and he completely missed whatever the Bosmer was saying. He tried to think back and place the name and face together somewhere in his past. "Atla...ah, I remember now. You were the lass who was always following your father the Thane around. Saw you on my way to Jorrvasker a few times. Don't think I've seen you since before I went to the Greybeards." He smiled at her offer to fight him. Now that was more like it. "You're on. I bet you a hundred Septims." He placed the coins on the table, then glanced at the two elves seated there. Normally, he would trust the Wood Elf over the Dark, but this time felt different. When he looked in the eyes of the Dunmer, he saw a rare innocence most of his kind lacked. "You," he pointed to Dalien. "Hold the gold."

OOC: haha, indeed.
Atla was a bit taken aback that Jolfried knew that much about her. It wasn't much of a surprise, she supposed. A thane tended to draw attention. Only she couldn't exactly remember seeing Jolfried. She smiled at his bet, though it quickly turned to a frown. Standing, Atla glared down at her kinsman. "His name is Dalien. You'll remember that once I knock sense into you." Turning to her friend, she gave him a reassuring smile. She looked also at Elduin.
"If you would both watch the gold, it would be much appreciated." Atla leaned in close to her friend and whispered, "Don't worry about me. This guy's drunker than a girl at her wedding. As witless as a cat in heat. This will be easy." Patting Dalien on the shoulder, and hoping he would laugh at her crazy metaphors, Atla turned to face Jolfried. "Shall we?"

Elduin smiled as he leaned back in his chair and whispered to the Dunmer "He is too drunk to fight properly, this fight is in her favor." Elduin stood to his feet as he spotted the blue Argonian come into the tavern. "As wonderful as it has been I must be off, should you find yourself in need of board I have a house in town, as well as one in winterhold. As long as sleeping on the elf side of the town will not offend you my doors are open." He said with a bow and then followed the Argonian outside.
Once outside the Argonian looked at Elduin "I am so sorry, they made me." He told him a hint of fear rising in his voice. Elduin knew who the "they" were, The Dark Brotherhood, no doubt they would be trying to forcibly recruit him or kill him. Either way this Argonian was about to die for betraying him, Elduin patted the young Argonian on the shoulder "I am sure they didn't give you a choice." He falsely assured him as he stealthfully drew his dagger and made sure no guards were around. He quickly covered the Argonians mouth and jabbed the dagger in his back several times. After a few seconds the young Argonian went limp ans Elduin dumped the body into the waters below and watched it sink to the bottom. That is when his world suddenly went black.

Jolfried sighed at Atla's insistence that she call the Dunmer by his name. He wondered how he had come about having a Nordic name, anyway. And the same as Atla's father, if he recalled. "Fine. Dalien, watch my gold." He turned back to Atla. "There, you happy? By Talos, It's impossible to please a woman." He went and stood in the middle of the room, waiting for Atla to join him. "Right. Just fists. No weapons. And you pull out some sort of spell, I'll shout you down." He readied his fists and waited for her to make her first strike.

Dalien tensed when Jolfried began listing off facts about Atla. Who was this man? He wondered, annoyed. His annoyanced turned to concern when a bet was made. Atla would no doubt accept. She loved adventure. Dalien looked at Atla wearily, which communicated: Are you sure? Her next words gave him some reassurance. He nodded, a smile on his lips as he caught her metaphor. "Don't strain yourself." He told her with concern and respect as he appreciated her defending his name. His concern was momentarily distracted by Elduin. "I again thank you for your generosity. I will converse with Atla if we should need a place." He replied thankfully and watched as the elf left. Dalien turned his attention back to the fight, feeling very uncomfortable. He sighed at Jolfried's coins. They better not make a huge mess, or the winnings would end up paying for it.

"As you wish." Atla said, bowing. To allow herself more flexibility, she removed her sword and bow and placed them on the table. She then followed Jolfried to the middle of the room, ignoring the stares of the other patrons. They all watched with eager eyes. Who didn't love a good brawl? Facing the Battle-born, Atla lifted her fists in front of her face and began to circle him. Drunks usually had a hard time keeping balance, and moving in circles would hopefully hinder his concentration. With a flourish she suddenly stepped in close to him, feinted with a left jab to strike with her right at Jolfried's chin.

Jolfried kept his eyes on Atla as she circled him. He might be drunk, but he still knew tactics, and he realized she was trying to keep him off balance. He stayed in his spot and simply pivoted while she moved. He lifted his hands to block as she moved in close and jabbed with her left fist. He made to give a punch in response when she surprised him with a clip to the jaw with her right. He backed away a moment, flexing his jaw; that actually hurt. Frustrated she'd landed the first blow, he swung forward at her with a rapid right-left-right combo.

Dalien watched the brawl, his eyes not leaving the two fighters. "Humans have strange customs." Dalien muttered to no one in particular. His red eyes narrowed as he watched Atla strike Jolfried and Jolfried blocked. He was still pretty alert for a drunk man. He allowed himself a small smile as Atla struck first. She would be pleased with herself right now. He continued to watch, making sure it wouldn't get too out of hand. "Hurry up and knock him out." He muttered again.

The patrons at the tavern cheered when her punch landed. Atla tried to remain level headed, but she was more than pleased to have hit first. Jolfried proved to be more of a challenge than she had anticipated, for he lashed out skillfully and quickly. Atla threw her arms up to protect her face, wincing as Jolfried's fists hit. She would have bruises in the morning. When she felt a break in his attack, Atla quickly slid to his right and aimed a power jab at his right cheek. She followed that with a quick uppercut.

Jolfried quickly raised his arm to block her punch at his cheek, then grabbed her arm before her uppercut landed. He moved to the side and intended to throw her to the floor, but he'd forgotten how drunk he was and stumbled, dragging her down with him. Still, he attempted to take advantage of the position and jabbed his elbow toward her ribs.

Unable to roll away from the jab, Atla took the elbow to the rib. The attack was dulled by the armor, but Jolfried had put a lot of force behind it and so she still felt the sting of another bruise. Quickly shifting to her knees, she straddled Jolfried and aimed an elbow at his face, followed by two quick jabs with her left and right fist.

Jolfried attempted to get back to his feet, but then was thrown off guard when Atla was straddling him. He managed to block her elbow, but her quick punches made their targets, leaving him lying there, quite dazed. He stared up blankly at the ceiling, stunned. Pathetic, he heard someone say. You really don't know how to have a good time. Can't drink without getting in a brawl, but I suppose that is just the way with Nords. The voice sighed and went quiet, and Jolfried later shrugged it off as his imagination from his drunkenness and beating. When he came to, he said up, shaking his pounding head. He grinned and gave a shrug to Atla. "Looks like I'm out a hundred Septims," he said, standing. He sat in the chair he had been occupying earlier and noticed that the Wood Elf had disappeared. Well, that was fine by him. Even upon reflection, something had seemed a bit off about him. "Sorry if I was rude earlier," he apologized to both Atla and Dalien. "How about I make it up to you both? Whatever you want, it's on me." He knew he was spending a lot that evening, but he'd had an exceptionally good turnout in the last Dwemer ruin he'd visited.
Rosa sat in a darkened corner of the tavern, her headwrap concealing most of her scarred face. She'd not joined the rest of the spectators in watching the brawl. She didn't trust her beast blood to remain contained at the sight of such open combat. She'd overheard the woman when she introduced herself earlier. Wolfsbane sounded like a promising ally to her cause. She hoped she might be able to talk with Atla later and see if they could come to some sort of understanding.

Atla remained poised atop Jolfried until she was sure he was out. When it was clear he wasn't going to fight back, she stood up and stared down at him. Glancing over her shoulder, she winked at Dalien. When the nord man began to come around, she helped him to his feet. "Looks like you are." she said, returning to her seat and placing her weapons back on her person. "No need. Your apology is enough, Battle-Born. You've proven yourself humble and wise in that, and I appreciate it. And don't worry, our meals will definitely be on you." she said with a laugh as she scooped the coins into the coin pouch at her side.

Rosa waited a few minutes after they were seated again before making her way over to where Atla, Jolfried, and Dalien sat. She made sure her face was mostly concealed by her wrap, not wanting the patrons of the tavern staring. "Excuse me," she addressed the Nord woman. "Did I correctly hear you call yourself Wolfsbane?" she took the empty seat at the table, which was convienently facing away from the room. She pushed back the cloth on her head to reveal the three jagged scars across her face. "I was wondering if you might be willing to help me."
